  • Provide high quality services enabling CalWORKs students to move from welfare dependency to economic self-sufficiency.
  • Aid the state in meeting both its TANF Maintenance of Effort funding and the Department of Health and Human Services Work Participation Requirements.
  • Provide exceptional employment and work study services to assist students in meeting county requirements for participation in the CalWORKs program.
  • Produce the CalWORKs Association Portraits of Success used to highlight student achievement.
  • Conduct workshops, training, and annual statewide conferences.
  • Establish strategic partnerships with organizations advocating for education and social services.
  • Maintain CalWORKs program integrity and Budget Act mandates and compliance.
  • Advocate for the protection of categorical funding and programs serving at-risk students.
